Glamping FAQs

Kitchen: Heating and cooking is via a wood burning stove. We also provide a gas camping stove for making a quick cup of tea!

There is a small fridge, powered by solar power. This is approx 50cm tall, 40cm wide and 50cm deep, so smaller than a typical under-counter fridge. If you intend to bring lots of food/drink we suggest bringing a cool box.

We provide a cafetière and a starter quantity of filter coffee for coffee lovers.

Bathroom: Each tent has its own bathroom with hot water on tap, normal flushing loos and walk in showers.

Bedroom: All beds are furnished with warm duvets and high-quality bedding. Blankets and hot water bottles are provided for chilly nights.

Other: There is a USB charging point in each tent, powered by solar panels. There are NO 3-pin plug sockets, so please bring USB cables only.

Outside: Each tent has a private decking area, with comfortable outdoor seating, in addition to a fire pit BBQ and outdoor picnic table. We provide outdoor blankets to keep you cosy outdoors.

Clothing: Whilst the glamping tents are luxurious inside we always remind guests that it is off-grid living! In addition to normal outdoor clothing we suggest bringing slippers, waterproof jackets and extra warm layers.

Food, Drink & Kitchen Items: It is your responsibility to pack any food and drinks needed for your trip. Aside from tea, coffee, sugar and our welcome hamper there are no other food items provided.

Extra Essentials: As explained above we provide the essentials needed to get you up and running. After these are used up you will need to supply extras, such as: loo roll, kitchen roll, bin bags, firelighters and charcoal.

Games & Fun Things: We always recommend packing plenty of games and activities. There’s masses of space inside and outside the tents to enjoy time with your family and friends!

Is it easy to get to Brocklands Farm?

The farm is located in West Meon, approximately 12 miles from Winchester & 9 miles from Petersfield. The farm is very well connected and full driving directions will be sent on booking.

Both Winchester and Petersfield have train stations, with direct links of approx. 1 hour into London.

Whilst it is possible to use taxis/public transport to reach us, the remote nature of the glamping site makes it difficult it fully explore the area without a car. If coming by train and keen to explore beyond the farm we suggest hiring a car from Winchester.

Is the access suitable in a small car?

Yes – the tents are located approx. 200m from a tarmac lane, down a hard standing track. This is well maintained and is suitable for most normal cars.

Can I charge my electric vehicle?

No – the site is off grid, away from mains power!

Can I walk through the farm to access other walks/cycle rides?

Yes – In your Welcome Pack you will find maps showing the route through the farm, connecting you with West Meon Village, the Meon Valley Trail and the South Downs Way.

Are there shops nearby?

Yes – Please see our website for more information on what is available in West Meon and further afield. West Meon is well equipped with a village shop and butchers. The nearest large supermarkets are in Petersfield or Winchester.

Can I walk to the pub and cafe?

Yes – The Thomas Lord Pub and Cuppacheeno Café are both easily walkable. Please see our website for more information.

Can I get a food shop delivered in advance?

No – Due the remote nature of the site it is not possible to arrange food deliveries in advance of your arrival.

Do you provide food packs, delivered to the tents?

No – Unfortunately we are unable to deliver food packs to the tents. However, it is possible for you pre-arrange packs to collect at the West Meon shop for when you pass through the village on arrival.

Is Brocklands Farm Glamping child-friendly?

Absolutely! Brocklands Farm is a child-friendly destination, providing a safe and welcoming environment for families to enjoy. Children love playing at the glamping site and relish time in the outdoors, away from screens and technology!

Can you provide a childs cot?

No  – We are unable to provide cots and high chairs for infants, so please pack your own travel cots/chairs if travelling with young children.

What is the difference between Lapwing & Yellowhammer?

Very little! Both tents are exactly the same in size and configuration, and they both have amazing views across the South Downs.

Can I bring my dog when visiting Brocklands Farm?

Yes – You are welcome to bring your four legged friends, although please be responsible dog owners and repect our tents, surrounding wildlife and other guests. When booking you will be able to add a maximum of 2 x dogs to the booking, at a cost of £25/stay.

Please keep dogs off the furniture and clean up any mess. Please also be aware we are a working farm with lots wildlife, so dogs should be kept on a lead when walking around the farm.

For those who are not comfortable around dogs, rest assured that the tents are far enough apart for you to not come across dog on the site.

How close together are the two tents?

They are situated at either end of a grassy meadow, approx. 100m apart. This is far enough apart to ensure privacy and your complete peace, but near enough to walk to if your friends are in the other tent.

Can my friends visit during the day?

Yes  – Up to 4 x day visitors are welcome.

Please inform us of their arrival in advance so we can agree parking arrangements. We also need their contact details, should we, in the case of an emergency, need to know who is on site.

All day visitors must leave the site by 10pm.
